Google Using Site Speed in Rankings

Google says they're obsessed with speed and have now added site speed as a new signal in their search ranking algorithms.

Site speed is not as important as relevance, according to Google, and site owners should not sacrifice speed for relevance. Google says site speed will affect less than 1% of their search queries. The Google post linked below announcing these changes also has some free tools to evaluate the speed of a site.
