If You're Using a PC Use Microsoft Security Essentials

We recommended Microsoft Security Essentials back in September and October (Microsoft Security Essentials: Free, so what's the catch?) when Microsoft announced it was providing the product free for up to 10 computers. Free is the perfect price point for a tool that we know works seamlessly with the Microsoft operating systems and provides better than adequate malware protection for homes and small businesses.

We still use AVG Internet Security for companies with more than 10 seats running PCs and not Macs, which is most of our clients. We also have a couple of Mac clients that use Security Essentials for the handful of PCs running in their businesses.

So far the Microsoft product has worked great and we continue to recommend it ahead of any other anti-virus program for less than 11 seats.  Here are some links to posts on release 2.
