Open email links directly in Gmail using Chrome

When I began using Google Apps and Gmail for business I missed being able to click on an email link in a browser to send an email. While Outlook was still installed on the computer, it seldom opened once the transition to the Gmail web interface was complete. When I wanted to send an email I would copy the link and navigate to Gmail to create and send the email. And grumble every time it happened.

Starting today, thanks to the magic of HTML5 things are getting simpler. Now, when you go to Gmail in Chrome, you will be asked if you want Gmail to open all email links. Say yes, and clicking on email links in any application on your computer will open a fresh Gmail compose window.
Today in this case was last week - 2/28/12
