Official Google Blog: Welcome to the future of video. Please stay a while.

I must admit that I still get most of my information via print, not video - even though almost all of that print is online. I can read pretty quickly, and I get impatient with even the 1-2 minute videos that just don't get to the point when I could be skimming an article for what interests me.

I do watch YouTube videos on my Droid, but I'm not sure I'd watch anything longer than a couple of minutes. So the only place YouTube adding movies for rental will help me is if it's on an Internet connected big(ger) screen.

But this additional content will make the Internet even more useful.

Social Media Reach and Speed Can Have Huge Impacts on Business

Forget the gross-out factor of the YouTube video showing two North Carolina employees contaminating food.

Instead, focus on the ways in which Dominos was forced to act and react (too late, it turns out) to avert a crisis in their brand. This would not have been possible even a couple of years ago, but this is our new business reality in the world of social media.

From the NY Times.
